TRD considering a supercharger kit for the GT 86 / FR-S - report

Can't come soon enough

We've already heard reports that Subaru is preparing to launch a BRZ Turbo and comes word that Toyota may follow suit, albeit in aftermarket guise.

According to Car & Driver, Toyota Racing Development (TRD) is considering adding a supercharger to their lineup of accessories for the GT 86 / Scion FR-S. Little is known about the supercharger, but the magazine says it could be unique to TRD which makes sense considering Subaru is going the turbocharged route. However, the similarities between the two models would likely mean BRZ owners could slap the supercharger under the hood without too much difficulty.

There's no word on specifications, but the supercharger would definitely add some extra oomph to the 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine that develops 200 hp (149 kW / 203 PS) and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) of torque.
