Mazda considering a Citroën DS3 competitor - report

Mazda Kiyora concept

Could be launched within two or three years

Mazda's European vice president of research and development has revealed the company is considering a MINI Cooper and Citroën DS3 competitor.

Speaking with Autocar, Ichiro Hirose said the company is "interested in the premium sub-B class" and could have a car launched within two or three years.

Little is known about the model, but it would likely be a city car that incorporates the company's Kodo design language. We can also expect a variety of SkyActiv technologies to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

It remains unclear if the model has been approved for production, but we should learn more in the coming months.
