We already know Audi is working on a brand-new R8 supercar, but that doesn't mean that Audi is neglecting the current model. As we get closer to the 2015 model year, the current R8's last year on the market, we have yet another mystery on a our hands. Our skilled spy photographers stationed in Germany have spotted yet a new camouflaged R8 prototype, and we're dead sure it has nothing to do with the upcoming second-generation model. Audi is definitely up to something, and judging by these photos it is going to be big.
You might be tempted to believe Audi is planning to retire the current R8 with some sort of special edition model in the vein of the LMX, but the spy shots you're about to see below suggest something meaner that the standard R8 is underway. By the looks of it, Audi is bringing some of its race technolgoy to the streets. Read on to find out more about this new prototype being tested on public roads.
