Could battle the Ariel Atom and BAC Mono
The Blue Oval is reportedly considering a street-legal Formula Ford to battle the Ariel Atom and BAC Mono.
EVO says a senior executive hinted at the possibility during the company's "Go Further" event where they introduced the 2013 Fiesta and Mondeo. The unnamed executive declined to go into specifics but said the model would cost "well under £100,000 ($160,080 / £124,990)" which would make it "a bargain next to the BAC Mono."
There's no word on when the model could be introduced, but a street-legal Formula Ford recently lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7 minutes and 22 seconds. It was equipped with a 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine that produced 205 PS (151 kW / 202 hp). This enabled the car to accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than four seconds and hit an estimated top speed of 255.5 km/h (158.8 mph).
