The third Luxury Supercar & Concours d'Elegance Weekend of Canada took place on Sept 8th and 9th in Vancouver’s VanDusen Botanical Garden offering the perfect backdrop for a 'Garden Party' atmosphere with its largest collection of super cars to date featuring fifty years of James Bond Cars.
Some of the cars that were showcased included the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish, a 1933 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 by Figoni – the most famous Canadian-owned Concours car -, a 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed, a 1990 Ferrari F40, a 1951 Ferrari 212 Export Vignale Coupe, a 1967 Lamborghini Miura, a 1947 Humber Sedanca D'Ville – owned by King George VI -, a 1967 Toyota 2000GT – one of only 343 built and the only one in Canada -, a 1939 McLaughlin Buick Royal Tour car – one of the two that were ever made, and the 1964 Aston Martin DB5.
Each car on display was hand-picked by the Concours d'Elegance selection committee. Best moments came from the featured Bond cars like the Ford Thunderbird convertible from 1964's Goldfinger, the Lotus Esprit S1 from 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me, the Daimler DS420 Limo which featured in 2006's Casino Royale and the Aston Martin DB5 that will show its face in the upcoming James Bond movie Skyfall.
