Mercedes is putting the finishing touches on the GLE 63 AMG Coupe as our spies have caught two more lightly camouflaged prototypes undergoing testing in Europe.

Set to tackle the BMW X6 M, the GLE 63 AMG Coupe follows in the footsteps of the Concept Coupe SUV and adopts an aggressive front fascia with a prominent grille that is flanked by sweepback headlights. The crossover also has a ventilated hood, plastic body cladding and side steps with metallic accents. The rear end will likely provoke love or hate it reactions but it features slender taillights, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.

Mercedes has been coy on specifications but the model is expected to use a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine. It currently produces 525 PS (386 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque but it could be upgraded to better compete with their Munich-based rivals.
