2014 Vauxhall Astra GTC with 200 HP 1.6 Ecotec engine
Engine also available in Cascada Turbo
The 2014 Vauxhall Astra GTC is now offered with a 1.6-liter ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo engine taken from the Cascada Turbo.
Up until recently the most powerful non-VXR Astra came with 180 HP (132 kW) but now the Astra GTC is offered with 200 HP (147 kW) and a maximum torque of 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) courtesy of the ECOTEC 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. The vehicle will need 7.3 seconds to cover the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint before hitting a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h).
Aside from being more powerful, the engine comes with a 13 percent fuel efficiency improvement and enables the coupe to return 51 mpg UK (42.4 mpg US or 5.5 liters / 100 km) in the combined cycle with CO2 emissions of 154 g/km.
The Vauxhall Astra GTC can now be had with a revised IntelliLink infotainment system worth 855 GBP which has a high-resolution seven-inch touchscreen display and comes with features such as voice control, satellite navigation, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity. It also has Europe-wide street level mapping and can be easily updated through USB.
Already available on order from 20,995 GBP, Vauxhall will start deliveries of the updated Astra GTC in spring.
