[UPDATE] Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Grenoble - where Michael Schumacher was transferred - issued a statement
French website Europe1.fr is reporting seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher has been involved in a serious skiing accident in Meribel, France.
He was at a skiing resort in Meribel, France when he lost control and hit a rock with his head. Luckily, Schumacher was wearing a helmet and according to a spokesman for the ski resort his injuries are "not very serious." The F1 champion was rushed over to the Moûtiers hospital located approximately 15 km from the resort.
The accident occurred at 11:07 AM CET and the police has already started an investigation to find out what happened. Europe 1 radio reports Michael Schumacher was skiing alone.
