The 2014 Camaro Z/28 was unveiled at the 2013 New York Auto Show and up to this point, no one outside of General Motors has gotten the chance to test drive it.
Jay Leno is certainly not you random Joe Schmo, so GM saw him fit to be the first civilian tester. Al Oppenheiser, Chief Engineer for the Camaro, presented the car to JAy and outlined some of the more important details of it, like how he fought to have the slash reinserted into the Z/28 nameplate.
Jay took a nice crack at the new Camaro Z/28, but this is the show car, so GM didn't allow him to push it too hard. He especially was not allowed to do his trademark burn out at the end of the show. Regardless of him having to baby the resurrected Z, the video is still a hoot to watch and listen too, as that 500-horsepower, 7.0-liter V-8 sure does produce a sweet sound.
Check out the video to see what Jay thinks of it.
