Our photographers have spied the upcoming Cross variant of the Volkswagen Up!
Taken in northern Europe, the spy photos show a production-ready prototype completely undisguised. It looks a lot like the Cross Up! concept that VW showed last year at Frankfurt Motor Show. This is essentially a more rugged-looking variant of the five-door model that can be distinguished by matching silver front and rear bumper inserts and a bigger front air intake with honeycomb grille.
It also has the typical black plastic wheel arch covers, lower bumper sills and side skirts. Compared to the regular Up!, the Cross version will sit 15mm higher and will come with silver underbody protection panels. The alloy wheels have remained virtually unchanged; while the concept's silver roof rails will be black for the production model.
The Volkswagen Cross Up! could be launched in the first half of next year.
