2013 Seat Leon Cup Racer

Will have six races

Seat has announced plans to organize a one-make Leon Eurocup race series next year.

The Seat Leon Eurocup will be a customer racing series that will be organized over the course of six weekends in 2014 using the recently introduced Leon Cup Racer. The season will kick off in May and will take place in six European locations, with the calendar set to be finalized in the coming weeks. The race weekend will start on Friday and run through Sunday during which there will be two free training sessions, qualification and two races.

Participants will race with the Seat Leon Cup Racer, a lightweight race-spec version of the road-going car featuring a roll cage, digital instrument cluster, 18-inch alloys and lighter seats. The vehicle will adopt an aerodynamic body kit with a prominent rear wing, muscular side skirts and flared fenders. Under the hood there will be a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbo delivering 330 HP (243 k) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) sent to the front axle via a 6-speed DSG or a sequential racing transmission.

The Seat Leon Cup Racer is already available on order and carries a starting price of 70,000 EUR. Deliveries will commence around April 2014.
