AC Schnitzer ACS4 2.8i Coupe based on BMW 428i Coupe is this year's TUNE IT! SAFE! car [video]

Power increased to 294 HP

The 2013 Essen Motor Show is about to start so naturally the TUNE IT! SAFE! car has been revealed, this time in the form of an AC Schnitzer ACS4 2.8i Coupe based on the BMW 428i Coupe.

The Association of German Vehicle Tuners (VDAT) has introduced this year's concept car part of the "TUNE IT! SAFE!" initiative supported by the Police and the Federal Ministry for Transport, Construction and Road Development. It's a BMW 428i Coupe modified by AC Schnitzer to develop 294 HP (216 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) from the 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbo engine which normally generates 245 HP (180 kW) and 345 Nm (255 lb-ft).

The vehicle will do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 5.7 seconds and 50-112 mph (80-180 km/h) in 12.7 seconds, before hitting an electronically-limited speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

Aside from receiving additional power, the 428i Coupe by AC Schnitzer benefits from 21-inch alloys shod in Hankook 245/30 ZR 21 Ventus S1evo tires, an adjustable race-spec suspension (lowered by 25mm) and an aerodynamic kit encompassing new front and rear spoilers, rear diffuser and a rear roof spoiler.

For the interior cabin AC Schnitzer prepared aluminum pedals and foot rest, a "Black Line" handbrake handle, velour floor mats and a new key holder.
