Volkswagen Golf GTI tuned to 308 HP by HG Motorsport [video]

Company offers a variety of tunes

HG Motorsport has introduced a new tuning program for the Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance.

While model normally produces 230 HP (169 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, the tuning firm installed a carbon air intake, a sports exhaust system and an HF Series intercooler. This enables the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine to develop 263 HP (193 kW) and 376 Nm (277 lb-ft) of torque.

If that isn't powerful enough, the stage two package adds an optimized ECU which enables the mill to churn out 289 HP (212 kW) and 405 Nm (299 lb-ft) of torque. Additional optimization allows the engine to develop 302 HP (222 kW) and 444 Nm (327 lb-ft) of torque. The highest tune offers 308 HP (226 kW) and 435 Nm (321 lb-ft) of torque, but it seems like sort of a wash as there's only a modest horsepower gain at the expensive of torque.
