Volvo Steps Up The Tech - Voice-Activated Infotainment With Spotify
By Mark McNabb on Thursday, March 7th, 2013The two worlds of cars and computers continue to merge ever so quickly these days. Case in point: Volvo's integration of Spotify into their Sensus infotainment system as showcased at the Geneva Motor Show this week.
Like other infotainment systems found in other brands, Volvo's Sensus system combines useful information like maps, traffic, and weather with the fun stuff like web surfing and music streaming.
The system is based on the Android OS, so updates and upgrades can be done with familiarity. Ease-of-use also looks quite good. Voice and touch inputs can both be used to keep drivers' eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.
Although the Sensus system isn't new, the new features and continual upgrades definitely warrant a second look. Check out the two videos below highlighting the new functionalities.
