Chevrolet working on an entry-level Corvette for 2015 - report

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 13.1.2013

Could cost less than $50,000

Chevrolet hasn't even released pricing information on the 2014 Corvette Stingray, but a new report is indicating the company will launch an entry-level model in 2015.

Motor Trend says the car will be distinguished by a new front fascia, modified fenders and a different diffuser. The model could also lose the Stingray name.

Power will reportedly come from a 5.3-liter V8 engine that is similar to the one used in the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado / GMC Sierra. This likely means the mill will produce less than 400 bhp (298 kW) which is at least 50 bhp (37 kW) less than the Stingray.

If everything pans out, the 2015 Corvette Coupe could sticker for less than $50,000.
