Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum shows off his bespoke Mark 2 [video]

Built over the course of 18 months

Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum has revealed his bespoke Jaguar Mark 2.

Created with the assistance of Classic Motor Cars Limited, the car was built over the course of 18 months and features a number of modifications.

Starting with the exterior, the sedan has been equipped with modified bumpers, functional louvres and 17-inch wire rim wheels. The ride height has also been reduced by 30mm to give the car a sportier stance.

The interior boasts premium leather upholstery, wood trim and machined switchgear. We can also see retro-inspired gauges, an analog clock and a new center console with a Clarion infotainment system.

Detailed specifications were not released but the car is powered by an upgraded 4.3-liter engine that is connected to a five-speed manual transmission. The car also has beefier brakes and a retuned suspension - among other things.

According to Callum, “This is a very personal statement. A long held notion that, although the Mark 2 has always been a beautiful car, it could be even more exciting in shape and performance. Whilst maintaining the purity of the car’s form, I wanted to add a number of modern twists to the design. Simplification and clarity was my objective.”
