Sometimes when you set out to prove something, the proof often times just isn't enough for some folks. Naysayers and slanderers just eat your lunch. So it seems Hyundai has taken the extra step - or six in this case - to ensure the car-conscious public is well aware of the 2015 Genesis' latest convenience safety features.

So to demonstrate the Genesis' Advanced Smart Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist system, Hyundai hired stunt driver Buddy Joe to lead the pack of driverless, yes driverless, Genesis sedans around an oval loop then subject them to a rather sudden stop. But executing the driverless car situation was a little more involved than one might think.

Lined up one after another, the drivers of all six Genesis sedan turned on both the smart cruise control and the lane keeping function before proceeding to exit the vehicle. Yep, the stunt drivers make use of the Genesis' generous panoramic sunroof by climbing through it, only to jump to a moving semi truck pulled along side.

Without spoiling all the video's fun, I can say it's a pretty impressive stunt that seems hard to fake. The cars all followed each other perfectly (though seemingly at slow speeds) until the semi truck slammed on its brakes. Driverless, each car came to a complete stop without nary an issue. Nicely done, Hyundai. I'm impressed.

Hyundai Genesis - Driven

Under the shadow of BMW's Spartanburg manufacturing plant nestled in the rolling hills of South Carolina, I found myself ripping through corners of back county highways in the new 2015 Hyundai Genesis. And though the plant only produces BMW's popular SUVs and crossovers,, the Genesis' intent to conquer giants became blatantly obvious the farther I traveled through the sweeping hills.

The roads along my path were littered with hairpin turns and switchbacks followed by long straights with varying pavement conditions. Besides the few locals traversing the trail and that one tractor creeping along behind a blind curve, the road was nearly mine. The Genesis' new, more ridged chassis and upgraded suspension system with a driver-selectable Sport Mode rode tight with a very balanced feel that inspired confidence.

The steering in my RWD tester felt light yet properly weighted while its variable ratio kept my inputs in check. With the car weighing in at 4,138 pounds, I was amazed at how well the Hankook tires griped the road without howling complaints. Only under mid-corner power was I able to induce noticeable understeer. I'm no Mario Andretti, but I was giving it the beans. The Genesis just tracked like it was on rails with almost no body roll.

NHTSA probing Hyundai Santa Fe for front axle issue

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating the Hyundai Santa Fe sport utility vehicle (SUV) after receiving complaints that vehicle can suddenly lose power, reports Detroit Free Press.

The agency has two complaints that the right-front axle shaft can fail on 2013 models.

The investigation covers about 50,000 vehicles. Investigators will determine if the problem is big enough to require a recall.

No injuries or crashes have been reported.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe Turbo Concept by FuelCulture

If you thought that only muscle cars were the prime target for tuning packages destined for SEMA, you would be absolutely incorrect. Models like the Hyundai Genesis Coupe have also been equipped to turn some heads at the 2012 SEMA Show with some very impressive tuning packages. One of them belongs to the guys from FuelCulture - a website designed to make the research and buying process more effective and more efficient for the consumer.

Their project features a very cool Candy Apple Red paint finish and adds a few exterior updates that make the Genesis Coupe look even more aggressive. These additions include a new front bumper, a new carbon fiber trunk, a new rear lip, and new side skirts, as well as a rear kit that increases the car’s width by 50 mm. There is also a new set of 19" Rotiform IND wheels. Changes for the interior, have been kept to a minimum and include custom diamond stitched front and rear seats and door panels. There is also a new Rockford Fosgate audio system that will offer both the driver and the passengers the most amazing sound currently on the market.

Their Genesis Coupe Turbo Concept is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine that delivers a total of 315 HP and 242 lbs-ft of torque. That’s quite an impressive update over the standard 274 HP. In order to obtain the extra power, they have added a new boost controller, worked on the ECU, and installed a new ARK DT-S exhaust system.
