Company confirms eight new or facelifted models for 2013

The 15-millionth Skoda has rolled off the assembly line at the company's Mladá Boleslav plant in the Czech Republic.

The landmark model was a 2013 Octavia which will be used as a "VIP sedan" at the Skoda Technology Center in Cesana.

In a statement, Skoda Chairman Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland said “Producing 15 million cars is a symbol for the great development of the Skoda brand. We have been building vehicles for 118 years and automobiles since the year 1905. Thus we are among the automobile brands with the richest traditions in the world."

While hitting the 15 million mark is a notable achievement, Skoda doesn't plan on slowing down as they want to increase their annual sales to 1.5 million vehicles by 2018. As part of this effort, Skoda has confirmed plans to launch eight new or facelifted models in 2013.
