To be unveiled next month

British media has managed to obtain information concerning next-gen Nissan Qashqai's engine lineup.

The Japanese crossover will be sold with a newly developed 1.2-liter turbocharged engine which at first will represent the only gasoline solution. This 4-cylinder, DiG-T motor will provide an output of 113 bhp (84 kW) sent as standard to the front wheels. On the diesel side, the second-gen Qashqai will be available with a 1.5 dCi rated at 108 bhp (80 kW) and a 1.6 dCi producing 128 bhp (95 kW).

It will utilize the Common Module Family platform co-developed with Renault and should receive a hybrid variant sometime in 2015. From what we know, Nissan doesn't plan on selling the car in a "+2" seven-seat version since they already have the 2014 X-Trail for this job.

The second generation of the Nissan Qashqai will be reportedly unveiled in November ahead of its early 2014 market release. Trim levels will include the familiar Visia, Visia + Safety Pack, Acenta, Acenta Premium and Tekna, while four-wheel drive will be an optional feature on select versions.
