Jaguar XE
Jaguar may not have as huge a presence at this year's Geneva Auto Show now that its big reveals of the F-type Roadster and Coupe have been accomplished, but that hasn't stopped them from teasing us with their next big reveal. All we have are a few teaser images and a few small details, but Jaguar has confirmed that their compact 3 Series-fighter is real and it is going to wear the name XE.
This new car will be the first that is built using Jaguar's all-new aluminum architecture that was first previewed with the C-X17 Concept SUV. Jaguar has been building aluminum intensive cars for over a decade now, but this move will further reduce the weight of Jaguar's many offerings.
The new XE will likely create the backbone of Jaguar's sales once it hits showrooms in 2015 (US availability is 2016). It will likely eclipse the sales of all the other Jaguars combined in its first year on sale.
For such a mainstream model, expect a range of engine options and power outputs from a base four-cylinder all the way to a potential M3 fighter with the supercharged V-6 from the F-Type.
Updated 07/29/2014: Jaguar unveiled new details on the future XE sedan, this time focusing on the car's new lightweight, aluminum-intensive construction. Details after the jump.

Kia K900 - Driven
Kia and luxury once went together like bleach and ammonia, but as we creep into the 2015 model year, things are starting to change. It started with cars like the Optima and Sorento getting more luxurious digs, then came to a head with the introduction of the Cadenza. And now for 2015, Kia presents its K900, a luxurious sedan that shares a platform with its sister brand's luxury rig, the Hyundai Equus.
Not only is the K900 the most luxurious car that I have ever seen from Kia, but it is also the most powerful, thanks to is 420-horsepower, Tau V-8 that is borrowed from Hyundai. As of July 2014, this Tau V-8 remains the standard engine in all K900s, but soon the 3.3-liter V-6 found in the Cadenza will make its way into the engine compartment.
In the Cadenza, the 3.3-liter engine produces 293 ponies, but I am willing to bet it will exceed 300 horses by the time it makes its way to the K900. And this tuning is likely why the V-6-powered K900 is not on dealer lots yet - a 293-horsepower V-6 is not suitable for a 4,600-pound lard yacht.
Fortunately, I got my crack at the K900 before the V-6 had a chance to ruin the fun, so I got to enjoy all 420 roaring ponies from this Korean masterpiece. But the real question is, can it actually hang with BMW and Mercedes this early into its life?
Find out the answer and read all about my time with the K900 after the jump.

Renault Alpine Leaked
No, Renault won't officially unveil its long-awaited conceptual tribute to the fabled Alpine-Renault A110 until later this week - but a Web site in Europe claims it has the first leaked photo of the Alpine reincarnate.
French publication MotorSport Magazine, which first broke the images, says what you're looking at is the real concept deal, much, as does fabled BBC publication Top Gear. If true, it looks quite a bit like Renault's 2010 DeZir concept - which, ironically, we noted bore a vague resemblance to vintage Alpine-Renault sports coupes. This new image appears much like a DeZir, albeit one cranked to eleven. Dramatic wheel flares, preposterously large wings, and gaping air intakes trigger flashbacks to Group 4-prepped A110s. Incroyable.
What lurks beneath the skin of la nouvelle Alpine, however, is allegedly wildly different from the original concept. Don't look for the DeZir's fancy electric powertrain; according to TopGear, the Alpine concept is built atop the mechanicals of the wild Renaultsport Megane Trophy race car. As such, a 3.5-liter V-6, placed aft of the cabin in keeping with Alpine tradition, could provide about 450 hp to the rear wheels.
We're anxious to learn more about the concept itself - but we're even more interested in learning exactly what plans Renault has in store for its Alpine brand, which has essentially laid dormant since the discontinuation of the A610 in 1995. Over the past several months, we've heard Renault officials insist they're serious about resurrecting the brand. Rumor has it they're certainly planning on launching a new sports coupe - perhaps atop a platform shared with Nissan and Daimler - that, could pack a 300-hp punch. Executives have also mulled selling the vehicle in both China and North America to amortize costs. If so, and if it continues to wear the Alpine name, it would be the first Alpine-Renault to be officially sold in North America, since plans to sell the GTA in our market in the late 1980s were ultimately scrapped.
For now, it's a wait-and-see process. The first step, we're told, is to wait until Friday, when more images and details are expected to emerge from Renault.

Subaru automobile corporation is long acknowledge among the big name in car producer and also has long historical background of producing a top quality car that has Subaru characteristic, that's why many feels that their brand new line of 2013 Subaru Outback might also be as wonderful as it old collections. The mixture of brand new range of modern technology formulate by Subaru and their expertise and deep working experience from their designers make this 2013 Subaru Outback become a tough competitor to other brand new auto in the same classification from other auto challengers.
This 2013 Subaru Outback is a fresh new car which will become obtainable on wide-range of diverse trims; that are the 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i, the 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium and the 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited; all having four cylinder engine. In this case, the Premium and Limited version would be the utmost expensive mainly because it will provide freight coverage, leather wrapper steering wheel, rear end privacy glass together with power drivers seat.
Currently the Subaru has already made the decision to placed their personalized CVT auto transmission platform as the selectable for the 2013 Subaru Outback, where the basic transmitting designed for the 2013 Subaru Outback will be the six speeds manual transmitting platform. With regards to the engine, there would be basically two type offered, the 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine for the 2.5i editions; producing for as much as 170 hp and 170 pound feet of torque, while the second engine would be the 3.6 liter 6 cylinder engine designed for the 3.6R versions; having 256 horsepower as well as around 247 ft of torque.

Today's tough opposition among auto makers across the world where brand-new vehicles brought directly into public day after day bring a very good condition for the consumer as they now enjoy a handful of options to pick out but in counter it will be a giant mission for Subaru as well as their brand new 2013 Subaru Outback to steal the attention and awareness from their clients and then win the race. As a retrofit variant different from the previous type, the 2013 Subaru Outback expected to deliver a new and different riding atmosphere that's turned into reality by adding new additional features and functions to overpass the outdated edition. Subaru definitely optimist for the success of their fresh new 2013 Subaru Outback prior to implementing loads of brand new facilities and stuffs as per customers desire.

Mercedes-Benz May Be Planning C300 and E300 with 248-hp V-6
If you're shopping for an E Class Mercedes sedan in the U.S., your least expensive option is the E350, which carries a starting price of $51,365 before you check off a single option box.
If you've got your mind made up to buy a new Mercedes, the price is what the price is. If you're cross-shopping rival German brands, there are variants of the BMW 5-Series and Audi A6 that offer similar amenities for thousands of dollars less.
In other words, Mercedes-Benz is potentially giving up sales to rival German automakers. Now comes word from Car and Driver that Mercedes may launch a new E300 sedan, priced noticeably below the current E350.
The E300 would be powered by a 3.5-liter V-6, likely the same engine used to power the Canadian E300 4Matic launched in February. It's also the same powerplant used in the current E350, but de-tuned to produce 248 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque instead of the E350's 302 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.
Launching an E300 would also allow Mercedes-Benz to increase the standard content on the existing E350, taking it further up the luxury ladder with a price increase to match.
Documents filed with the NHTSA show that Mercedes may introduce the E300 in both rear drive and in all-wheel-drive 4Matic form, and may even launch a revised C300 4Matic with the same engine.
We say may, because filing vehicle listings with the NHTSA doesn't always mean a model will come to market. It's a necessary first step, and the launch of the E300 in Canada makes expansion to the U.S. likely, but Mercedes-Benz doesn't comment on future models.

2012 Peugeot 408 Launched
Peugeot may have described the 408 with words like harmony, elegance and dynamism. But it does not take a keen eye to notice the slightly awkward proportions resulting from thick C-pillars. That said, the 308-based 408 sedan has a more flowing profile compared with the 206-based 207 Sedan. Measuring 4680 mm in length, 1815 mm in width and 1525 mm in height, the 408 is about the largest C-segment sedan there is, boasting the longest wheelbase of 2710 mm and the largest boot space of 562 litres, which can be expanded by 40/60 split-fold rear seatbacks if the 33 litres of cabin storage space proves insufficient.
Sharing a dash layout with the 308 hatchback, the 408 is a mode of clarity inside and comes well-appointed with premium leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an instrument panel LCD, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, four one-touch power windows with anti-pinch function, automatic dual-zone climate control with rear air vents, and a six-speaker audio system with CD/MP3 playback capability coupled with USB/Bluetooth connectivity.
Needless to say, the equipment list is much lengthier than the above-mentioned. Both variants are fitted with sensor-activated headlights and wipers, "Follow Me Home" headlight function, cruise control with speed limiter, and automatic retractable side mirrors. 17-inch alloy wheels are standard fare, but with notable differences: the 408 2.0 wears five-spoke Rinjani alloys and 215/50 tyres; while the 408 Turbo wears eight-spoke Melbourne rims wrapped in wider 225/45 tyres. A choice of six colours is offered: Alpine White, Velvet Silver, Metropolis Bronze, Aster Grey, Bourrasque Blue and Premium Black.
The list goes on, covering the crucial safety aspect. Features available for both 408 variants are dual front airbags, the full suite of braking controls (ABS, EBD & BA), front seatbelt pretensioners, and two Isofix locations. The 408 Turbo is set apart with additional items including two side and two curtain airbags, anti-skid regulation (ASR) and dynamic stability control (DSC). What's more, the 408 Turbo's suspension is tuned with a bias for sportiness, so expect a firmer ride.
The 408 2.0 is driven by a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, capable of generating a maximum of 147 HP at 6000 rpm and 200 Nm at 4000 rpm. Fitted with a rather dated four-speed auto adaptive gearbox with Tiptronic and a sport mode, the 408 2.0 expectedly does the 0-100 km/h sprint in a leisurely 12.5 seconds, and tops out at 195 km/h. That is a good deal slower than the 408 Turbo, which completes the same sprint in 9.2 seconds and hits 215 km/h.

Subaru Tribeca Moving Towards the Dead End
Say farewell to the Subaru Tribeca. According to MotorTrend's Japanese correspondent, a source close to the automaker says that the Tribeca will end production at the end of this year.
When asked to make an on-the-record-comment about the Tribeca, a Subaru spokesman said "No, Tribeca is not dead, and will be on sale for the 2013 model year." However, beyond the 2013 model year, the spokesman had no comment.
We're guessing the new Subaru XV Crosstreck will end up taking the Tribeca's place when all is said and done.
Power for the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek comes from a 2.0 liter Boxer engine making 148-hp. The engine is mated to Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel-drive system, a 5-speed manual transmission - a second-generation Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (automatic transmission) is available as an option. Estimated fuel-economy comes in at 25/33 mpg (city/highway) and 28 mpg combined.

Abarth 695 Maserati Edition Price And Specs
Remember the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari, the hyper-expensive hot hatch fettled with some help from Maranello? Well now Fiat has tuned up its baby 500C convertible pocket rocket with assistance from Maserati.
The new limited-edition Abarth 695 Maserati Edition will carry a similarly eye-watering price tag - just 499 of the convertible hot hatch will be built and it tops a heady 32,000.
Like the Ferrari version launched three years ago, the Maser 500 uses a 180bhp 1.4 engine breathed upon by a Garrett turbocharger to liberate 184lb ft at 3000rpm when Sport mode is selected.
Abarth's Competizione transmission is standard, its five speeds slotting up and down via steering wheel-mounted paddle shifts. A sports exhaust is claimed to improve the acoustics above 3000rpm.
Brembo monobloc brake callipers are fitted to stop this minuscule missile effectively, while Koni shock absorbers give a sportier, lower ride. Not too sporty, we hope; the Tributo Ferrari was a pogoing mess on British country roads.
Fiat swears its sporting brand has had input - and if you look hard enough, you can spot the influences. The 17in alloys have a Maserati-inspired Neptune design, apparently, and the paint is straight from the Maser colour charts - Pontevecchio Bordeaux. The foldback canvas roof is contrasting grey.
It all starts to get a bit more confusing inside, where Jaeger helped design the instrument pack, but there's the usual smattering of carbonfibre (kickplates), leather (wheel and seats) and a rather more surprising UV treatment on the door panels whose surface is described as 'flocking'.
UK sales of the Abarth 695 Maserati Edition start in late 2012. And if you're fretting over that sky-high price for a tarted-up Fiat 500, remember some of the extras thrown in 'for free'. There's a set of Tramontano leather luggage, xenon headlamps, climate control, sat-nav, a JBL hi-fi and limited-edition plaque numbering each edition from 1 to 499.
It's easy to scoff at absurdities such as the Maser 500, but dealers report that these cars do sell - sometimes to customers coming out of supercars or Merc SLs, who want something smaller and more discrete but without losing the exclusivity they crave.
The 695 Maserati Edition certainly has lower running costs than most supercars, with its 151g/km CO2 rating and 46.3mpg average economy figure. Yet Abarth claims a top speed in excess of 140mph and a 0-62mph time nudging just the right side of seven seconds.

2013 BMW 7-series facelift prototype
BMW is giving its flagship sedan, the 2013 7 Series a facelift. The updates to the 2013 7 Series include powertrain upgrades for the 740i/Li and 750i/Li models, in addition to a new powertrain for the ActiveHybrid 7. The exterior also gets a few tweaks and the interior gets a redesigned iDrive system.
The top 7 Series is still the 760Li with its Twin Turbo V12, which does not get any engine updates for the new model year. Both the six-cylinder 740i/Li and the V8-powered 750i/Li models get upgrades that give both models better performance and greater efficiency. The six-cylinder engine in the 740i/Li has been upgraded to the latest 3.0L TwinPower Turbo (N55) engine. It packs 315 horsepower and 330 lb-ft. of torque. The engine is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission and buyers can choose the optional xDrive all-wheel-drive system. According to BMW, the 2013 740i/Li is 20 percent more efficient on the EU test cycle.
The 4.4L V8 in the 750i/Li models has been updated with Valvetronic, BMW's throttle-less intake system. The updated engine now packs 445 horsepower, a 45 hp increase over its predecessor, and 480 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 30 lb-ft. The V8 is mated to BMW's 8-speed automatic transmission. The V8 is more fuel efficient than the outgoing engine, but accelerates the 750i/Li from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds.
Both 740i/Li and 750i/Li models benefit from BMW's Auto Start/Stop System which shuts off the engine when stopped at traffic lights or in stop-and-go traffic to further maximize fuel savings.
2013 also brings the second generation of the BMW ActiveHybrid 7. The new ActiveHybrid 7 is now powered by the a 3.0L TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine, instead of the V8 in the last model. The six-cylinder engine has the same 315 horsepower as the 740i and is mated to a 55 horsepower electric motor, a hybrid-spec 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and a lithium ion high-performance battery. The 2013 ActiveHybrid 7 has a combined output of 349 horsepower and 367 lb-ft. of torque. It reaches 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds. In the EU test cycle, the ActiveHybrid 7 was 14 percent more fuel efficient than the new 740Li.
On the outside the 2013 7 Series gets a new larger BMW kidney grille that includes nine slats in place of the previous 12. The lower section of the front fascia is now dominated by a large air intake that has been split into three sections. Included is BMW's innovative "air curtain" technology, which lowers fuel consumption at higher speeds by forcing the air to flow more aerodynamically around the front wheels. The new BMW 740i/Li and 750i/Li are equipped with standard Adaptive Xenon headlights. Adaptive LED Headlights are optional on those models and standard on the 760Li.
The 7 Series interior gets updates that include redesigned, more slender front seats and the optional Rear Seat Entertainment Package now includes an iDrive controller and two 9.2-inch screens which, instead of being integrated into the front seats, appear to be "floating" on them.

2013 Aston Martin DBS V12 Supercar
Ladies and gentleman, time to take out your magnifying glasses and open a couple of windows to compare these fresh scoop pictures of the 2014 Aston Martin DBS to its current namesake.
Note that according to some sources, Aston Martin may replace the DBS nameplate with a new one, though we have yet to hear this from channels.
To save you some research time, we can tell you that the 2013 model year DBS or whatever Aston Martin decides to call it, adopts some styling cues from the One-77 such as the more heavily arched front and rear panels, the door mirrors along with new front and rear lights, and grille and bumper designs.
If your mind goes to a heavy facelift, you are right as it's not only the styling that remains more or less the same, but its underpinnings, including the chassis and the V12 engine, as well.
Of course, Aston Martin engineers will fettle around with the VH alloy frame and its suspension components as well as with the 6.0-liter V12 engine, which should produce around 550-horses (558PS), up from the current model's 510hp (517PS).
Other rumored changes include a brand new interior with modern gadgetry and features.

High-performance Toyota FT-1 concept revealed?
Several months ago, Motor Trend interviewed a handful of designers about the Toyota FT-1 concept. The video was a hit but the FT1 Club has just noticed something unusual about it - a mysterious rendering of a high-performance variant.
While the details are hard to make out, the rendering shows an aggressive FT-1 which has a two-tone exterior and what appears to be a fixed rear wing. The top left corner of the image also appears to show the outline of the Nürburgring which backs up the belief that is a sporting variant.
Of course this isn't the first time we've heard about a high-performance FT-1 as previous reports have suggested the company is working on a wide-body racing variant that could be part of a tie-in with Gran Turismo 6 and / or the Super GT series.
LG confirms battery with 200 mile range, will likely be used by GM

Could be used in a Tesla Model III competitor
LG Chem CFO Cho Suk-jeh has revealed the company will supply an automaker with a battery that will allow one of their models to travel more than 200 miles (321 km) on a single charge. Suk-jeh declined to say which automaker will use the battery but all indications are pointing to General Motors.
While nothing is official, former GM CEO Dan Akerson announced plans for an electric vehicle with a 200 mile (321 km) early last year. Little is known about the car but Akerson suggested it could be equipped with a range-extending engine that runs on petrol, diesel or natural gas.
More importantly, insiders have previously tipped a 2016 launch and a $30,000 price tag. If the latter number pans out it, the model would likely be more affordable than the Tesla Model III which is expected to cost approximately $35,000 and have a range in excess of 200 miles (321 km).

Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera LP620-4
As evocative and downright exotic Wheelsandmore has been with their tuning projects, we can't help but wonder if they end up running out of ideas at some point.
Apparently, their recent run of new programs for some of the most powerful cars on the planet is proving that notion to be completely untrue.
For their latest offering, the German tuner has set its sights on a car that needs no introduction: the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera LP570-4.
Every Wheelsandmore tuning program always carries a standard performance upgrade and the "Green Beret," as the company has called this baby, is no different. The German tuner went and combined a digitally program-able, remote-operated valve control with special carbon-frame airfilters and a remapped ECU unit with a handmade, stainless steel exhaust system, effectively giving the Gallardo Superleggera a sinister performance upgrade.
How sinister? Well, from the standard 570 horsepower coming out of the super car's 5.2-liter V10 engine, Wheelsandmore managed to increase that to a powerful 620 horsepower, hence the LP620-4 designation.
But more than just the mechanical improvements, Wheelsandmore also gave the Italian supercar a new set of fancy 20 6Sporz handcrafted, multi-piece forged wheels that are rotating at the steering axle and wrapped in 5p Continental Sport Contact tires. Other improvements for the Green Beret include a new race established special coilover with adjustable rebound and compression, hydraulically liftable around 1.77 inch, and called LCS (level-control-system).
For a tuner that has made a living out of programs like this, the Green Beret is yet another feather in the hat of these guys.

BMW Zagato Coupe Concept
Zagato returns to this year's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este bringing a new car. This time they've teamed up with the Bavarians at BMW to make a one-off, road-legal, BMW Coupe. Pretty it isn't, but then artistic things rarely are. BMW Zagato is quite special though. It looks like the illegitimate lovechild of the current BMW Z4 and Zagato's Alfa Romeo Corsa.
The car has a three-dimensional, sort of sculpted design, especially at the front. In Zagato's interpretation of the BMW's headlights and kidney grilles, they are caricatured a bit, which is fair enough what with the car being a one-off and all. But they have not resulted in a completely desirable sight. We do like the sloping lines of the front wings though, and we also like the side vents.
From the sides all you notice is the car's chunky rear wings. Looks like its heaps could use a breather. That lead us to the rear-end of the Zagato Coupe, which is the car's party piece. There you can clearly see signs of the Italian designer's hand with the transparent panel in its upper section familiar from other Zagato creations. Divided visually into three sections, the generous glass surfaces open up a line of sight to the lights and into the interior. Their dark tint gives the BMW Zagato Coupe an even sportier look. The double-bubble roof is another sign.
Other highlights include the 19-inch light-alloy wheels in classically sporty five-spoke design, and the special Rosso Vivace - an expressive shade of red - paint job.
The exterior might not appeal to everyone, but the revised interior can't be faulted. Based on the Z4 s cabin, Zagato has revamped it with exquisite materials and high-quality details, such as leather and Alcantara upholstery and amazing red stitching all across the seats, door panels and dash. The seats also have a big 'Z' embroidered into the headrests. Two exclusive accessories - a hat bag and a travel bag - set the seal on Zagato's colour and materials upgrade.
BMW Zagato Coupe is a one-off for now, but they made the Aston Martin Zagato, so we could expect to see this in limited production as well. Not sure we want to though!
