Qoros 3 Estate Concept
Sedan goes on sale this year
Qoros details its lineup for next month's 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Formerly known as GQ3, the Qoros 3 Sedan is 4,615 mm long and 1,839 mm wide. Upon launch it will be sold with a 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter gasoline engine with stop/start available in a naturally-aspirated variant producing 126 HP (93 kW) and 155 Nm (114 lb-ft) along with a turbocharged version generating 156 HP (115 kW) and 210 Nm (155 lb-ft). It gets a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard or an optional dual-clutch, 6-speed transmission.
Qoros and AVL are co-developing a 3-cylinder, 1.2-liter turbo engine and a new 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter turbo engine, with both of them featuring gasoline direct injection (GDI).
The Qoros 3 Cross Hybrid is a crossover with a compact hatchback body and a hybrid drivetrain. It gets a 3-cylinder, 1.2-liter turbo gasoline engine mounted transversally at the front working together with an electric motor installed above the rear axle. There's another electric motor (Integrated Starter Generator) located between the gasoline engine and transmission. This setup provides the car with AWD capabilities.
As for the Qoros 3 Estate Concept, like the Cross Hybrid it adopts the styling cues seen on the sedan and serves as a preview for a future model with this body style. Its rear seats can be folded to provide a flat load floor and also incorporates a ski hatch.
