Plymouth Prowler with HEMI V8 6.1-liter engine [videos]

Performance Innovations has mounted a HEMI V8 engine in a 1999 Plymouth Prowler.

Defunct automaker Plymouth built the Prowler in the late 90s and early 2000s, ending its short lifespan in 2002 as a Chrysler model after the latter decided to shut down Plymouth in 2001. During this period, only 11,000 units were made and had at first a V6 3.5-liter engine with 214 hp (159 kW) and then a more powerful version of the engine producing 253 hp (188 kW). The engines were connected exclusively to a four-speed automatic gearbox sending power to rear wheels.

The North Carolina-based tuner Performance Innovations decided to inject more power into a 1999 Prowler and they installed a 6.1-liter V8 HEMI engine producing 425 hp (317 kW) at 6,200 rpm and a peak torque of 569 Nm (420 lb-ft) reached at 4,800 rpm.
