2013 Aston Martin Vantage GTE 06.2.2013
A total of four models will compete in the WEC
Aston Martin has decided to celebrate their 100th anniversary by embarking on their "most ambitious racing program to date."
A total of four Vantage GTEs will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with two of them entering the Pro class and two entering the Am class. As part of this effort, the Vantage GTEs will compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans which is the third round of the WEC.
To help ensure the models are successful, Aston Martin updated their Vantage GTE Pro entries for optimized performance and better drivability. The company withheld specifics but said the model has a revised suspension, better weight distribution and a fly-by-wire throttle.
The Pro cars will be driven by Darren Turner (GB), Stefan Mücke (D), Peter Dumbreck (GB), Bruno Senna (BR), Frédéric Makowieck (FR) and Robert Bell (GB). Likewise, the Am variants will be piloted by Allan Simonsen, Christoffer Nygard, Kristian Poulsen, Roald Goethe (D), Stuart Hall (GB) and Jamie Campbell-Walter (GB).
