Audi AS5 Coupe by ABT Sportsline

Not one to be left out of all the fun at the 2012 Essen Motor Show, ABT Sportsline decided to join in on all the festivities by bringing a number of aftermarket programs, including one for the Audi A5 Coupe.

Visually, the AS5 Coupe is treated to a host of new aerodynamic components, which add a sportier look to the car and provide enhanced performance capabilities. From the front lip spoiler to the side skirts, the fender inserts, the rear skirt, the rear spoiler and the quad-pipe exhaust system, each of these new components are fitted to the AS5 with the goal of giving the sports car an edgier look and feel to it. Add the lowered suspension springs, coil-over kit and a set of CR or DR alloy wheels, and you have a sports coupe that's primed and ready to throw down against the field.

At the heart of ABT Sportsline's modification program is the series of performance enhancements given to the entire engine lineup. For starters, the 1.8-liter TFSI model received an output boost to 211 horsepower — up from the 170 ponies the model carried in standard guise. Then there's the 2.0 TFSI, which sees its output rise from 211 horsepower all the way up to 270 horsepower.

Not one to be left out in the cold, the AS5 2.0-liter Turbodiesel also got into the mix, as is receives a power bump from 177 horsepower to 205 horsepower. The 3.0-liter diesel variant rounds out the diesel engines by jumping from its standard 245 horsepower to a more thrilling 300 horsepower.

Finally, the most powerful AS5 of them all... The 3.0-liter gasoline engine, now packs a whopping 380 horsepower, a stout 108-horsepower increase from the standard 272 ponies.

The Kawasaki W800 offers a perfect mix between a retro style and modern technologies.

The bike features a tasty, old schools design which consists of smooth curves and long, straight lines. The retro style is also enhanced by the well polished, air cooled engine which has a Vertical Twin configuration. We also need to send a shout at the rounded fuel tank which is combined with a long, comfortable seat with thick, ribbed padding.

To increase the classic look of the bike, Kawasaki equipped it with a traditional instrumentation which includes individual speedometer and tachometer and a multi-function LCD screen which incorporates odometer, tripmeter and clock. There is also a full range of indicator lamps which includes an FI warning lamp, dual turn signal indicators, low fuel level indicator, high beam indicator, neutral indicator, and oil pressure warning lamp.

The ride quality is assured by dual rear shock absorbers, adjustable for spring preload.

Car Crash: Aston Martin V12 Vantage Wrecked in Czech Republic

Ondrej Vavra spotted this Aston Martin V12 Vantage in Czech Republic. The V12-powered sports car was found next to a dealership. It sustained major damage at the front right after a crash. It is unknown what happened exactly, but looks like a decent repair and high repair bill.

Company seeks to recoup 2.5 million GBP

The legal battle between Lotus and Dany Bahar is heating up as the automaker has sued the former executive for living a lavish lifestyle on the company's dime.

The lawsuit alleges that Bahar was overpaid and made unauthorized expenses including a chauffeur, house repairs and helicopter / jet rentals. The filing goes on to say that Bahar did an "abysmal" job as CEO because he "excessively extravagant" and "preoccupied with his own interests." All told, Lotus is looking to recoup £2.5 ($4.0 / €3.1) million that Bahar reportedly took from the company's coffers.

As we have previously reported, Bahar was fired in June following an investigation into his misconduct and misuse of company funds. Bahar responded by filing a £6.7 ($10.7 / €8.2) million wrongful termination suit against the automaker.

A1 Quattro or RS1?

Several mysterious images of an Audi A1 taken from the European trademark office database have surfaced as the Audi RS1 according to JokeForBlog.

Upon initial inspection, the car appears to be an A1 Quattro but it features a monotone appearance and RS style five-spoke alloy wheels. This could imply photos are slightly misleading or the car is a completely different model - possibly the RS1.

We're still on the fence, but the hatchback has an aggressive body kit with new bumpers, revised side skirts and a prominent rear wing.

The A1 Quattro was powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that developed 256 HP (188 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. The RS1, on the other hand, is expected use a detuned version of the TT-RS' 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine.
