Rosberg not giving up on 2014 title

Rosberg not giving up on 2014 title

Nico Rosberg (GER) / XPB

Nico Rosberg is convinced he is still in the running for the 2014 title.

The German, once the runaway championship leader, has fallen 17 points behind with just three races to go off the back of teammate Lewis Hamilton's run of dominant form.

"It's difficult for Nico now," team chairman and F1 legend Niki Lauda was quoted on Tuesday by the German news agency SID, "as Lewis is currently at his very best."

Even the fans agree. In a survey by the news agency, only 22 per cent believe Rosberg can track down Hamilton's lead and go on to win the drivers' title by the chequered flag in Abu Dhabi.

However, the highly controversial new 'double points' finale could work in the 29-year-old's favour, as the winner in Abu Dhabi next month will bank 50 rather than the usual 25 points.

"I love this rule," Rosberg reportedly grinned on Tuesday.

On the other hand, he insisted: "I know I can win every race, so my tactics are not really changing.

"I won't give up on the championship until the chequered flag in Abu Dhabi," Rosberg added.

Ford Kuga gets 180 HP 2.0-liter TDCi engine in UK

2015 Ford Kuga (UK-spec)

Power bumped by 17 HP

Ford has launched the 2015 Kuga in UK where it comes with a more powerful 2.0-liter TDCi engine.

95 percent of all Kugas sold by Ford in United Kingdom during the first nine months of the year were equipped with the four-cylinder 2.0-liter TDCi turbodiesel engine and now the Blue Oval company decided to make the motor even more appealing by bumping its output.

Up until now it generated 163 HP (120 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) but after the engineers worked their magic it now churns 180 HP (132 kW) and an impressive 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) sent to both wheels via a manual gearbox or PowerShift transmission.

The Ford Kuga (UK-spec) will be available from now on with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine with 150 HP (110 kW) in the FWD manual version and with 182 HP (134 kW) in AWD automatic guise. There's also a 150 HP variant of the 2.0 TDCi offered with a FWD manual configuration or as an AWD model with either the manual or PowerShift gearbox.

Other updates include fresh colors such as Tiger Eye Metallic (pictured), Magnetic Metallic and Ruby Red Metallic. Titanium X Sport gets a new body kit while inside the cabin there's now support for voice-activated apps available through the Ford SYNC with AppLink system.

Additional details can be found in the attached press release.

TopSpeed Exclusive: Wrecked 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Caught on a Flatbed

One of our savvy readers caught a 2015 Z06 after some sort of nasty collision in the Chicago area. By our memory, this is the first-ever Z06 crash in the U.S., and you can only see the images at TopSpeed.com

What happens when 650-horsepower wrapped in a carbon fiber and aluminum meets an immovable object? You get destruction and sadness for starters. It seems that what we have here are the exclusive first images of a wrecked Corvette Z06. The car was spotted by an eagle-eyed reader as it was making its way down the interstate just outside of Chicago on a flatbed.

The car is in the signature bright-yellow paint, Z06 badges and all, and it appears to have been smashed quite heavily into a barrier of some sort. The front end is completely missing and the front of the fenders look pretty roughed up as well. The car itself is wearing press tags from Michigan, the tow truck is also wearing Michigan tags, so it is possible that this was an incident involving a journalist. The fact that the Z06 isn't available to the public until early 2015 also leads us to believe this accident happened with a member of the media behind the wheel.

Whatever happened, we just hope that everyone involved is doing well. Crashing a sports car that is capable of well over 200 mph can have some disastrous ends. For now, just hit the jump to check out the photos, and our reader was even able to snap some video footage.

We are ready and willing to hear your theories about what happened in the comments below. Are you upset that there is one less Corvette Z06 in the world right now?

Big thanks to our reader, Mitch.

Video: Mini JCW Sets New FWD Lap Record at Nurburgring

This Mini is now the fastest overall FWD vehicle to lap Nurburgring, but Renault gets to keep its production FWD car record.

width="460" height="370" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/0RLxUBRsoz0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

The Nurburgring lap record for front-wheel-drive production cars has been with Renault for many years. Two different iterations of the Megane set new benchmarks in 2008 and 2011, respectively, with an 8-minute 7-seven record to survive until March 2014. That's when the Seat Leon Cupra became the first FWD car to lap the 'Ring in less than eight minutes. However, the new benchmark didn't last too long, as Renault returned to the German track with the Megane RS 275 Trophy-R and regained its top position with a 7-minute 54-second lap.

While the Megane RS 275 Trophy-R still stands as the fastest production FWD car on the "Green Hell," the French hatch is far from being the quickest overall FWD car around the race course. That honor goes to a beefed-up Mini Cooper that just smashed the Megane's lap by a whopping 10 seconds. How's that possible? Well, first of all, the Mini in question is a John Cooper Works model. Then there's the fact that the hatch got a few extra tweaks from German specialist Schirra Motoring. The end result is a 1.6-liter four-banger that generates 286 horsepower - 78 ponies over the stock model - a curb weight of only 2,215 pounds, and a hatch that's faster than a host of sports cars.

I'm not kidding, this JCW is quicker around the `Ring than both the Porsche 911 GT2 and the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, and it matches the Pagani Zonda S' Nurburgring lap time. That's downright impressive no matter how you look at it, even though this Mini doesn't qualify as a production car. This also means the Megane RS 275 Trophy-R gets to keep its record, but Schirra's Mini is definitely the coolest FWD car to have lapped the 'Ring so far.

Lexus GS 350 F Sport - Driven

Mark McNabb had some time with the 2014 Lexus GS 350 F Sport. Check out his thoughts on TopSpeed.com/

The Lexus GS sedan has been around for quite a while, seeing its first U.S. sales in 1993. Built to compete against the likes of BMW's 5 Series, the GS is segmented between Lexus' popular IS sedan and the high-rolling LS premium sedan. Now in its fourth generation, the front-engine, rear-drive sedan is better looking and sportier than ever before. But how does it compete?

I recently spent a week getting to know a Nebula Gray GS 350 F Sport around my familiar stomping ground of Central Florida. A short-ish road trip provided an even greater range of roads and conditions in which to put the GS through its paces. Make no bones about it, this is no boy-racer track car, but it's no luxo party barge either.

Like all GS 350 sedans, my tester came powered by the ubiquitous 3.5-liter V-6, that in this case, makes 306 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. New for 2014 is an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The F Sport package adds extra adornments that liven up the GS' appearance, larger wheels and tires, performance-oriented shocks, and larger brakes.

The interior was loaded down with nearly every desirable techno-functionality that makes driving more convenient. A massive, 12.3-inch infotainment screen lives deep in the center dashboard complete with Lexus' Enform software, satellite radio, heated and cooled front seats, and leather everything.

So jump on down for the full run-down of the 2014 Lexus GS 350 F Sport including video and photos.

2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Sedan

2012 Mercedes C63 AMG images

Before the 2013 Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe burst onto the scene last month, its predecessor, the 2012 C63 AMG Sedan - was a doozy in its own right.

How awesome was it? It gave tuners like HMS Tuning free reign to give it some serious performance and exterior modifications.

Starting with the latter, HMS Tuning gave the C63 AMG a few added goodies, including a redesigned carbon fiber front bumper with integrated LED lights, flared wheel arches, a new boot lid spoiler, and a rear diffuser. All these items, incidentally, are made out of carbon fiber. Rounding out the exterior mods are a new set of 19 Jade R HMS-Edition black rims.

Now, for the performance upgrade. With the C63 AMG already carrying one of the best 6.2-liter V8 engines in the world, the Mercedes sports sedan is capable of belting out 457 horsepower. Now, add a three-stage supercharger kit and you've got a variety of increased outputs to choose from. Stage I develops 625 horsepower and 593 lb/ft of torque, Stage 2 produces 640 horsepower and 620 lb/ft of torque, and finally, Stage 3 peaks at 690 horsepower and 646 lb/ft of torque.

Not too bad for the 2012 Mercedes C63 AMG, right?

Talking about pricing, the top-end Stage 3 supercharger kit is priced at a steady 24,419, which is around $31,700 based on current exchange rates.

BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition revealed with visual tweaks

BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition

Limited to 23 units

Following a teaser released a couple of days ago, BMW has unveiled the limited-run M4 DTM Champion Edition.

In 2012, BMW triumphed in DTM with Bruno Spengler and decided to celebrate with a special M3 Coupe DTM Champion Edition and now they are doing it again with an M4 after Marco Wittmann's success in the 2014 season. Production will be capped at 23 units as a reference to the #23 number on the winning racecar and all units will feature an Alpine White body.

Tweaked by BMW Individual, the special edition M4 will be distinguished by a stripe design on the hood, black character lines and an M kidney grille with orange surrounds. It features 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels, CFRP roof and comes with black front splitter and carbon front flaps along with a black side skirt blade and carbon mirror caps.

Other enhancements include the carbon rear spoiler and diffuser insert while inside the cabin there's Marco Wittmann's autograph on the door sill plates and carbon trim strips. The list of changes goes on with an M Performance handbrake lever wrapped in Alcantara, serial number on the dashboard and an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel.

Teams should make own tyre compound choice - Force India

Teams should make own tyre compound choice - Force India

Wet Pirelli tyres / XPB

Force India has a radical suggestion about how F1 should proceed in the sport's Pirelli-tyred era.

Earlier in the Italian supplier's F1 tenure, Pirelli was famed - and often heavily criticised - for spicing up the race action with its aggressive tyre compounds.

That has changed dramatically in 2014, as the marque responded to the often explosive events of last year and the arrival of ultra high-torque turbo V6 engines.

The last race in Russia, for instance, was notable for its lack of drama.

Sochi circuit designer Hermann Tilke insists he is not to blame.

"Pirelli brought very conservative compounds," he told Germany's Auto Motor und Sport. "When they are bolder again with the selection of tyres, it will look different again."

Indeed, while Pirelli was earlier criticised for being too aggressive, now it is taking criticism for being too conservative.

So hard was the original compound selection for Brazil next month that Felipe Massa said it might even be "dangerous" in cold or damp conditions.

After Massa's comments, Pirelli did a u-turn and will now take softer tyres to Interlagos.

"After further technical analysis of the impact of the revised circuit surface, together with a risk assessment suggesting a low probability of compound overheating due to extreme track temperatures, we have made this change with the unanimous agreement of all 11 teams," Paul Hembery confirmed.

But all the fuss about compound selection might disappear if the teams have more control, according to Force India's sporting director Otmar Szafnauer.

He told Auto Motor und Sport: "Why not let each team choose their own two tyre options?"

Szafnauer said a rule change along these lines would lead to more overtaking.

"One car will be faster, another will be running longer. It would make the races exciting," he said.

Pirelli, however, has played down the likelihood of the proposal getting the green light.

"First, it would be a logistical nightmare," said Hembery. "And then there is the danger that some teams will get it wrong.

"And if the (wrong) tyres are a safety problem, we are the ones who get the blame, not the teams," the Pirelli chief added.

2016 Audi A4 rendered with evolutionary styling

2016 Audi A4 rendered with evolutionary styling

2016 Audi A4 render / RM Design

Coming late next year

The all-new Audi A4 (B9) has been rendered by RM Design with a subtle and evolutionary design.

Audi announced a new styling direction with the forthcoming concept set to be shown next month in Los Angeles but don't hold your breath for an overhauled design on future models. Seen here is Remco Meulendijk's interpretation of the fifth generation A4 sporting a sharpened look which can be best characterized as a bigger A3 Sedan and chances are the real deal will not stray away too far from these speculative renders.

It will ride on the MLB Evo platform and is expected to lose approximately 50 kg (110 lbs) while a plug-in hybrid version is reportedly planned with a 211 bhp 2.0 TFSI and a 95 bhp electric motor. There's also going to be a 1.4 TFSI benefiting from cylinder deactivation which will allow the new Audi A4 run on only two cylinders during low and medium loads to cut fuel consumption by 0.5 liters / 100 km.

Moving inside the cabin, expect an A8-derived center console with a bigger touchscreen display and a touchpad, head-up display system, digital screen built into the rearview mirror along with a customizable digital instrument cluster but not with as many options as in the TT.

The all-new A4 was allegedly delayed for some styling updates and is now scheduled to go on sale towards the end of next year as a 2016MY.

Volkswagen confirms new Passat getting CC and Alltrack derivatives

Volkswagen confirms new Passat getting CC and Alltrack derivatives

2015 Volkswagen Passat

Arriving in 2-3 years

Volkswagen has announced CC and Alltrack versions of the all-new Passat are currently in the works.

The Passat B8 is currently available in sedan and wagon body styles but in the next few years these will be joined by a sleeker CC and a rugged Alltrack. The announcement was made by the company's chief designer Klaus Bischoff in a Volkswagen employee newsletter but an exact launch date was not specified.

According to Car & Driver, the current CC will remain in production for approximately two years so its successor will likely come in the second half of 2016 and will be commercialized in United States. The Alltrack won't make it stateside and will once again be a high-riding Passat Variant with plastic body cladding and an all-wheel drive system, perfect for those who are not too fond of crossovers & SUVs.

We remind you that Volkswagen has dropped a few hints about a range-topping Passat R as a successor for the previous generation's R36 variant. It will come with a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system and possibly with a six-cylinder engine although a final decision has not been taken yet.

Mercedes S-Class Coupe Configurator Goes Live

Here's a great time waster for you TopSpeed fans: the S-Class Coupe configurator.

It may not be a sports car in the general sense, but the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe may be one of the prettiest two-doors available today. If you are like most people, and don't have at least $119,000 to blow on a new Mercedes, but you would still like to dream about it, head over to MBUSA.com right now. The site has the S-Class Coupe's configuration tool live, so you can create a perfect custom S-Class Coupe to call your own.

I decided to start with an S63 AMG model (base MSRP $160,000). I like the Lunar Blue Metallic paint, 20-inch silver alloys and the Exterior Carbon Fiber package. Of course I also added the carbon-ceramic brakes. For the inside, I went with Saddle Brown and Black Nappa leather, and the Black Poplar trim. The only other option I would take is the upgrade to the Burmester surround system. Grand total for my build is a whopping $182,445.

Why don't you run over and build your own new Mercedes. Drop your chosen options and final price in the comments. Bonus points for screenshots. Continue reading to find out more information on some of the other options and colors, as well as getting a chance to check out photos of my chosen car.

See you guys in the comments.

Toyota GT 86 Will Live to See a Second Generation

The Toyota GT 86 will get a second-generation version. Quite frankly, I don't know if that's good news or bad news because the current-generation model hasn't progressed the way we'd hoped. Maybe that's a contrarian opinion, but I just thought Toyota had more planned for the GT 86 than what it's done since the car came out. Whatever the case may be, Toyota of Europe executive vice president Karl Schlicht told Motoring Australia that the GT 86 will live to see a second generation model, even though he cautioned that the sports coupe still needed to go through a normal life cycle.

According to Schlicht, the Japanese automaker wants to keep some fun cars in its lineup and not make the same mistake it once did when it discontinued the Celica in 2006, leaving a gaping hole in the entry-level sports car segment. Right now, the GT 86 occupies that slot and will soon sit below the returning Supra.

Schlicht didn't elaborate on details regarding the second-generation GT 86, specifically how this disclosure would affect its relationship with the Subaru BRZ. Remember, Fuji Heavy Industries president Yasuyuki Yoshinaga said in July 2014 that the BRZ would also get a second-generation run.

Past reports have also linked the next GT 86 to the Toyota-BMW collaboration that's currently working on the Toyota Supra. Obviously, there are still a lot of unanswered questions regarding the status of the GT 86 and, by extension, the BRZ.

What we do know is that a high-ranking Toyota executive has said that the GT 86 will live to see a second generation; at this point, we'll take that news and hang on to it tightly.

2012 Kia Rondo Review

2012 KIA Rondo

The Kia Rondo is the seven-seater car and for some big families on a budget that alone might be a good enough reason to buy one.

The Rondo's days are numbered. Although it definitely won't be wiped off the map in 2013, it has to be thoroughly revamped if it wants to compete with the new Ford C-Max and recent Mazda5. In the meantime, the 2012 model is a carbon copy of the 2011, except for a few minor tweaks. The two engines offered are a 2.4L 4-cylinder and a 2.7L V6. These can be paired with either a 4-speed or 5-speed automatic transmission.

With a starting price of $25,990 before on-road costs for the five-speed manual Si variant, the Rondo is currently the only people-mover available for less than $30,000.

Under the bonnet of the Kia Rondo sits a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that on paper doesn't sound particularly well equipped to propel a vehicle designed to carry multiple people. There's merely 106kW of power (at 6000rpm) and 189Nm of torque (at 4250rpm).

Stepping on the throttle, the Rondo feels surprisingly responsive, although the apparent enthusiasm is actually just a case of an oversensitive accelerator pedal that quickly becomes tiresome and makes smooth driving an effort.

While it's capable and reasonably well-behaved around town, the engine's eagerness is swiftly converted to slow progression and loud engine noise when you ask it to accelerate a little harder, head up a hill, or pull half a dozen people as the car is intended to do.

The four-speed auto does the ageing petrol engine few favours. The gearbox kicks back violently when you sink the boot in to overtake, sending the revs flaring, increasing noise and decreasing refinement and comfort.

The auto model uses a competitive 8.6 litres of fuel per 100km on the combined cycle, bettering the manual by 0.1L/100km.

For those on the tightest of budgets, though, who need to haul more than five people and have less than $35,000 - or even less than $30,000 - the Kia Rondo is an honest, spacious and versatile option, but one that is let down by an underpowered engine.

2012 Ford FPV Boss 335 GT

Ford FPV Boss 335 GT

Ford's Australian outpost has built its most powerful car ever: the Ford Performance Vehicles Boss 335 GT. That's 335 kilowatts, by the way: 450bhp to you and me, from a supercharged five-litre V8 engine shoe-horned into the bodyshell of Ford's standard, rear-wheel drive Falcon saloon. With a bonnet bulge the size of Uluru and that power output stencilled into its black racing stripes, the Boss ain't subtle: it looks and sounds every bit as fast as it is. But can the Boss 335 GT transcend its family saloon roots to deliver a world-class performance car experience?

Australia's devotion to the muscle car easily exceeds America's. It builds them far better, and has continued to do so despite conditions which ought to have killed Aussies' appetite for big, powerful, thirsty cars stone dead. The heyday of US muscle cars ended abruptly with the oil crisis of 1971: they died overnight in an automotive mass-extinction event on a par with the demise of the dinosaurs. But Australian muscle-car culture was just hitting its stride. That year it produced the Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III, the new Boss's spiritual forebear and now the most valuable Australian-made car, with genuine examples changing hands for 750,000. And it kept on making them through the seventies.

Like many other Aussie cars the GT is pleasingly Spartan, doing away with the fripperies to keep the price down. So the glovebox falls open with a clunk, the silver cabin trim looks sprayed-on and the boot is barely trimmed and has no grab handles to pull it shut.

But the stuff Aussie drivers actually need is prioritized, such as long gearing and some of the world's best seats to cope with long, long distances.

And those distances will feel a lot shorter in the GT, if you're prepared to brave the speed cameras. Based on an American Ford V8 block used in the current Mustang 5.0 GT and Boss 302 the Boss 335 engine develops huge linear thrust and the acceleration feels quicker than the claimed 4.9sec 0-60 time. From inside the whine of the supercharger dominates but from outside there's a terrific rip from the exhausts accompanied, usually, by the sound of the rear tyres ripping at the tarmac.

The Boss 335 GT has traction control, but the system's main contribution seems to be to blink at you from the instrument binnacle to tell you you've lost traction. This can be provoked at will; fortunately the Ford's natural chassis balance allows you to keep the car pointing where it's meant to go. It has quick, accurate steering and a fine ride; not up to the standards of the best European sports saloons, but streets ahead of most US muscle cars.

To be positioned below the 911-based racers

Porsche is currently building an entry-level GT racer based on the Cayman and prepared to fit the GT4 regulations.

Autosport reports that the German manufacturer has tested a racing version of its Cayman coupe that will sit below the 911-based GT3 Cup, GT3 R and RSR. “Not everyone wants 600 bhp, lots of downforce and a car costing 500,000 EUR (632,000 USD). We have had a look to see if there is something we could do below that for our customers”, outgoing Porsche Motorsport boss Hartmut Kristen has told the magazine.

As reported before, a road version of the Cayman GT4 is also expected. It could receive a flat-six 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine developing somewhere in the region of 450 HP (331 kW).

Facelift or all-new model?

Another white prototype of the Nissan GT-R has been spied undergoing testing on a wet day.

We don't know for sure whether this is one last facelift for the current GT-R R35 or we are looking at a test mule for the next generation R36 scheduled to come out in 2017 or 2018. The vehicle spotted here comes with a heavily disguised front bumper while the rest of the car appears to be stock. This time our spy photographers managed to take a couple of spy shots with the interior cabin which looks stock except for the testing equipment.

If this turns out to be a facelift, expect some minor mechanical tweaks before the next generation GT-R's launch with an already confirmed hybrid setup. Based on a recent rumor, Nissan's supercar will provide a massive combined output of 784 bhp (585 kW) coming from an uprated variant of the twin-turbo V6 3.8-liter packing 650 bhp (485 kW) mixed up with a 134 bhp (100 kW) electric motor. Developed in collaboration with Williams, the hybrid system will work together with a new eight-speed gearbox which will have to handle a whopping 998 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque.

On the styling front, it will borrow design cues from the 2020 Vision Gran Turismo concept and the new body will help cool the hybrid system while improving aerodynamics at the same time. A preview concept is expected to show up at next year's Tokyo Motor Show.

Could offer Huracan rivaling performance

The second-generation Audi R8 is months behind schedule but that hasn't stopped Quattro GmbH managing director Heinz Hollerweger from confirming an R8 RS is under consideration.

In an interview with Top Gear, Hollerweger said they're discussing the model and noted it's "very interesting for us."

He was coy on details but suggested the car would use a 5.2-liter V10 engine. Hollerweger went on to say "You can look at a Lamborghini and think of that" which seems to be a cryptic hint about a Huracan rivaling output of 610 PS (448 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque.

Speaking of the Huracan, Hollerweger confirmed the R8 would ride on the same platform but feature different track widths.

He also downplayed the possibility of a manual transmission by saying "There is almost no desire from our customers to have a manual gearbox." Hollerweger went on to say less than five percent of customers order a manual transmission in the current R8.

Hollerweger also confirmed the company is considering a rear-wheel drive R8 special edition for the future.

Mercedes-Benz S-Guard W222 gets crocodile leather from TopCar

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Guard W222 by TopCar

First S-Guard W222 in Russia

The first Mercedes-Benz S-Guard W222 in Russia has been modified by local tuner TopCar.

The owner selected a two-tone light beige/cream & dark blue scheme for his S600 Guard which has received a partial crocodile leather upholstery. This isn't actually the first time when TopCar works with crocodile leather as back in 2012 they applied the same treatment on the previous generation S-Class Guard. This time, the crocodile leather has been combined with soft Nappa leather and contrast diamond stitching also seen on the floor mats.

We remind you the latest S-Guard is based on the S600 version powered by a V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo engine rated at 530 HP (390 kW) and 830 Nm (612 lb-ft). More importantly, the vehicle has been certified for highest ballistic protection in resistance class VR9 and comes with bespoke protective components built from a special steel incorporated in the cavities between the body structure and the outer skin.

It also has special heat-resistant synthetic fibers to increase splinter protection while all glass surfaces have been polycarbonate-coated on the inside. The S-Class Guard benefits from heated windscreen and side windows, opaque roller blinds, panic alarm system, hydraulic side windows and emergency fresh air system. It can be had either as a four- or five-seater while the trunk has a cargo capacity of 350 liters.

Ten months after his skiing fall, Michael Schumacher is now "waking up very slowly" from his serious brain injuries.

That is the claim of the respected French F1 commentator Jean-Louis Moncet, who told Europe 1 radio he recently spoke about the seven time world champion's condition with Schumacher's kart-racing son Mick.

"I saw his son and he told me that Schumi is waking up very slowly; very slowly," said Moncet.

Recently, Schumacher left a rehabilitation clinic in Switzerland and returned home to his estate on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Moncet continued: "Although things are going at a slow pace, he (Schumacher) has a lot of time, I would say his whole life in front of him to get back on track."

Moncet, 69, also revealed more information about the way Schumacher was injured when he fell and struck a rock whilst skiing with Mick in France last late December.

"The problem for Michael was not the hit, but the mounting of the Go-Pro (camera) that he had on his helmet that injured his brain," he said.
