UK media is reporting Lamborghini is considering a small series production of the 5-95 Zagato.

Commissioned by collector Albert Spiess, the 5-95 Zagato is essentially a heavily customized Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 that made its debut last week at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este and apparently was very well received. We are saying this because the one-off might evolve into a limited-run production model, although we're not sure Spiess will be too happy about it.

Its carbon fiber body shows off a fairly interesting design although some might say the front fascia sends a bit of a Spyker vibe. Other design highlights include a double bubble roof with a built-in and functional air scoop, along with side intakes derived from Zagato's 1996 Lamborghini Diablo-based Raptor concept.

If green-lighted for production, Lamborghini and Zagato will probably make only a handful of 5-95s and needless to say each one will cost an arm and a leg.

Mercedes-Benz shows off sinister black S63 AMG Coupe in new ad [video]

Mercedes-Benz has released a promotional video for the 2014 S63 AMG Coupe which they characterize as being "performance art."

The all-new S63 AMG Coupe is being showcased by Mercedes-Benz in the "Performance Art" spot probably in the most appropriate color: black. The promotional clip is accompanied by a poem exclusively written for the video which refers to the high-performance coupe as the "prince of the jungle" and a "feline searching for its prey."

Few preys can match the coupe's 585 PS (430 kW) coming from a V8 5.5-liter twin-turbo engine which enables the two-door S63 AMG hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds before reaching an electronically-governed top speed of 186 (300 km/h).

If that's not enough, the S65 AMG Coupe will allegedly be unveiled in July with a V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo packing as much as 630 PS (463 kW).

Minitune MINI Cooper S R56 2014

Minitune, a German tuner, released a body kit for the MINI Cooper S R56. The kit consists of a front spoiler bumper bar with big inlets, a black front grill, side skirts and a rear apron in diffuser optics and roof spoiler in racing looks. Moreover, Minitune integrated an air inlet with a distinctively formed scoop, in the engine hood.

Along with the exterior changes, the kit also upgrades the power from 174hp/240 Nm to 218 hp/319 Nm for the 1.6-liter turbo engine.

Yes, that headline is correct. I have a preview build of the new Grid Autosport game, and I am here to tell you about it. Before I go too much into detail on how the game looks, feels and plays, I need to clarify that this is pre-release code and it is not final. Codemasters has promised that they are still working on making everything crisper, faster and bug-free.

As it is, all things written here are subject to change.

If you have been sleeping under a rock and are unfamiliar with Grid Autosport, it is the new game from the team at Codemasters who among the previous Grid games, is responsible for creating the F1 franchise racing games and the Dirt series of rally games. The Grid franchise itself looks to cut a path between the sometimes brutal realism of Gran Turismo and the laughably fake physics of Need for Speed.

This new game takes the lessons learned from Grid 2's more approachable gameplay, then tightens things up a bit to be more realistic and adds in a handful of new driving modes and cars. Rather than pure street racing, Grid Autosport adds things like open-wheel racing and drift matches to the mix.

Jaguar XER-S

The upcoming Jaguar XE, the first BMW 3 Series competitor to come out of Britain, is still a long way from revealing its skin and engine lineup, but it appears the sedan is also in for a hotter version aimed at the more powerful M3.

At least that's the word from Auto Express, with the British outlet claiming the brawnier XE will carry an XER-S badge and a V-8 engine rated at 550 horsepower. That's the same amount found in the F-Type R, which is motivated by a supercharged, 5.0-liter, V-8 mill.

Details are scarce at the time of this writing, but if that output proves to be true, the new M3, which relies on just 425 ponies coming from a 3.0-liter, inline-six powerplant, will be in very big trouble.

Of course, we still have to take a look at the XER-S' design before drawing any conclusions, but we're expecting for a more aggressive body kit to come with that "R-S" lettering on the trunk and the extra power. There's no word on when the XER-S is scheduled arrive, but we're guessing it will hit showrooms by the end of 2016.

Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe to be auctioned at the Cannes Film Festival

Mercedes has announced plans to auction off an S63 AMG Coupe at the Cannes Film Festival on May 22th.

The winner bidding will be able be to customize the car to suit their tastes and Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One team driver Lewis Hamilton will offer his advice on which options to select during a meet and greet at the Formula 1 Paddock Club during a race weekend. Once the car is built, it will be handed over to the owner at AMG's headquarters in Affalterbach, Germany.

The proceeds from the auction will benefit the amfAR Foundation which is dedicated to "ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research."

As we have previously reported, the S63 AMG Coupe has a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine that produces 577 bhp (430 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in as little as 3.9 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of up to 299 km/h (186 mph).

Porsche has released a new video which shows a cleverly disguised Boxster prototype.

According to the Porsche Museum's Chief of Archive, Dieter Landenberger, the idea of a mid-engine car was a "big secret" in the early 90's. Since the company didn't want anyone to know that they were working on a mid-engine model, the prototype was equipped with a 911 Targa Turbo body. Despite looking like a 911, the prototype had a modified rear spoiler and a camouflaged rear window which helped to hide the mid-mounted engine.

Porsche eventually introduced the production model in 1996 and it became a huge hit for the company.

Will features a revised grille with a wreathless crest

Cadillac has announced the 2015 CTS will become the next model to feature the company's wreathless crest.

The company declined to release pictures but confirmed the car will feature a revised grille and the controversial crest that debuted on the 2015 ATS Coupe. Mainstream models will also be equipped with active grille shutters and a Galvano chrome grille, while VSport variants will eschew the grille shutters and adopt a black chrome grille. The 2015 CTS will also be offered in two new colors: Crystal White Tricoat and Dark Adriatic Blue Metallic.

Interior changes are relatively limited but include revised color and trim combinations as well as OnStar 4G LTE with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot. The CUE infotainment system also gains a Text Message Alerts function which can can read test messages aloud and send a predetermined reply. The infotainment system also boasts a new Teen Driver function which enables owners to set a radio volume limit and a maximum speed limit. The system also creates a "report card" that "records mileage, wide-open throttle events, ABS events, maximum speed and other data." Last but not least, there's a newly optional Cadillac DockSpot wireless inductive charging system for smartphones.

Engine options carryover and include:

• A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 272 bhp (203 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque


• A naturally-aspirated 3.6-liter V6 with 321 bhp (239 kW) and 275 lb-ft (373 Nm) of torque


• A turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 with 420 bhp (313 kW) and 430 lb-ft (583 Nm) of torque

YouTuber Mikesupercars has spotted at least eight different Ferrari LaFerraris near the Italian company’s factory in Maranello, Italy, last week. We see most of them are red, but there’s also a white one too.

We can’t say for sure why there are so many units of the supercar in the city these days, but users comment a lot of customers are still going to the plant for their final test drives.

The company says that the Final Edition represents "a tribute to all that was and all that will be" so they've struggled to make it as exciting as possible. The company added that the model will be manufactured in an extremely limited run and comes with a unique numbered emblem mounted on the frame.

In terms of style, the Indian Chief Vintage Fe features the 1939 World's Fair paint scheme of Thunder Black and Indian Red with gold pinstripes, auxiliary driving lamps, black leather solo seat with included detachable passenger seat, black leather saddlebags and lots of chrome.

The 2013 Indian Chief Vintage FE is powered by the PowerPlus 105ci engine which is married with a six speed gearbox.

BMW Plans No Hotter Version for the i8

The news surrounding the BMW i8 is relentless these days with information flowing in left and right. But sadly, the latest bit of news doesn't hold much promise for those looking forward to a sportier version of the i8 or a replacement for the M1 coming from the i8 platform.

Our German friends over at Autovisie sat down with Carsten Pries, BMW's head of Product Management M, for a recent interview. His issue lies with creating competition for its own i8 by flooding the already-small segment with low sales volumes. Not to mention the need to develop more powerful hybrid technology and a larger engine sized properly for an i8-like car. What's more, the i8 was developed from the ground up to be an electric hybrid with only a small gasoline engine.

The lack of an outright M model based on the i8 doesn't completely spell disaster. Friedrich Nitschke, the CEO of BMW M, says the fuel-saving technology from the i8 might wind up in future M models while the sportier aspects of the M Division might find its way onto future i models.

While these words came from BMW corporate heads, Pries and Nitschke may be bluffing about the existence of a high-performance hybrid supercar. Only time will tell, so stay tuned to TopSpeed for any breaking information.

Video: BAC Mono vs BAC Mono at Spa-Francorchamps

Spa-Francorchamps is one of the most challenging motor-racing circuits you will find in the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix. It measures 4.352 miles and features 20 turns. The current record at the track is held by Sebastian Vettel who lapped it back in 2009 in 1:47.263.

This challenging circuit was the perfect place for the BAC Mono to prove what it is capable of. This test comes just a few days after the Mono managed to smash Top Gear's test track record with a time of 1:14.3, thereby bettering the times of all but the 720-horsepower Pagani Huayra.

The two BAC Monos running at Spa were driven by Ron Simons, who was almost unbeatable in wet conditions at Spa for years and TV personality Sabine Schmitz.

Kia Sedona

The Sedona minivan sat out the 2013 model year without joining the official Kia lineup. Even so, the practical seven-seater notched up nearly 15,000 sales of old stock to families seeking the upmarket style of the Honda Odyssey but the value pricing of the Dodge Grand Caravan.

Value is the Sedona's key niche as it languishes without the chassis and tech overhauls that have done wonders for the Optima and Sportage. There are many benefits to the Sedona offering and the core model is refreshed in reintroduced for 2014 with a new grille design, new LED running lights in front and a new taillight design out back.

The space and features in this V-6 Kia minivan are beyond criticism - this wide and airy cabin makes full-size SUVs like the Chevy Suburban seem like a foolish extravagance that puts image ahead of actual vehicle priorities of kid and family transport. The Sedona's 24 mpg on the highway will also shame any SUV and most large crossovers.

With all these benefits and a $32,000 loaded price, the Sedona is more than $12,000 cheaper than the fanciest Honda Odyssey and Chrysler Town & Country models.

Inevitably, there are big compromises to be made. The Kia's sloppy driving experience and interior design are a relic of the bad old Kia days. Do the new grille and LED accent lights turn the also-ran 2014 Kia Sedona into a real player in the minivan segment?

Chrysler 200 Convertible

Times have changed in America, that much we can tell you.

Remember the day when mid-sized convertibles were as trendy as the mullet hairstyle? Those days are long gone, which is why it's a little surprising that automakers are still producing these vehicles.

Consumers still love convertibles, but these days, it has to be of the sporty variety. The 2013 Chrysler 200 Convertible is not a sports car, but it does come with the capability of being a convertible. So you can say that the vehicle offers the best of both worlds, right? The sporty performance of a coupe and the open-air freedom of a convertible all wrapped in a midsized vehicle's body.

To be fair, there are a number of positive attributes with the 200 Convertible. It's been completely refreshed to make Chrysler forget about the forsaken Sebring. It also has an impressive powertrain configuration that does justice to its looks.

So there's still hope for the 200 Convertible. But hope is fleeting, especially in the auto industry and ultimately, the midsized convertible is a dying breed.

Chrysler may have something with the 200 Convertible but for the most part, it's going to take a lot of convincing to get people interested in this kind of car these days.

Land Rover has released full details about the new range-topping Metropolis trim for the outgoing Freelander, following an announcement made in early March.

Land Rover is about to pull the plug on the Freelander in order to make room for next year's Discovery Sport but not before rolling out a more premium Metropolis trim that costs 35,995 GBP. It's based on the HSE Lux trim level but comes with additional goodies such as a panoramic roof, Windsor leather seats and a Meridian audio system.

In addition, the vehicle has received 19-inch alloys, reversing camera, touchscreen satellite navigation system, better carpets, glossy black cabin trim and a metallic exterior paint. The Freelander Metropolis can be had exclusively with a 2.2-liter SD4 turbodiesel engine producing 188 bhp (140 kW).

The aforementioned Discovery Sport is scheduled to go on sale in 2015 and is billed as an "all-new premium compact SUV" which will draw its styling cues from the Discovery Vision concept.

Arriving in the next few months

The 2015 MINI Cooper Cabrio has been spied testing on the Nürburgring in the hotter "S" guise, ahead of a full reveal likely planned for later this year.

The prototype spotted was wearing the now familiar swirly yellow camouflage although this wasn't really necessary since we all know how the car will look like. It will be very similar to the standard model with the exception of a retractable soft top, a small rear window and the third brake light repositioned on the tailgate.

Under the hood of the Cooper S Cabrio will be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine delivering 189 bhp (141 kW) and 206 lb-ft or 221 lb-ft with overboost. The vehicle will ride on BMW's UKL1 platform and will be available with the rest of the engines from the 2014 MINI lineup, including the 3-cylinder 1.5-liter gasoline motor with 134 bhp (100 kW) & 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) and the diesel version rated at 114 bhp (85 kW) and 199 lb-ft (269 Nm).

The MINI Cooper Cabrio will probably be unveiled in the months to come, with sales scheduled to commence towards the end of the year or early 2015.

Renault Fuego spiritual successor rendered, reminds us of BMW i8

Idecore, an independent team of designers and modelers, created a virtual successor to the Renault Fuego, a French sports coupe produced in Europe from 1980 to 1986 and in South America from 1982 to 1995.

The project “gets inspiration from Renault’s avant-garde past, but it firmly looks to the future”. The creators also say it features “a never aggressive clear style defined by flowing clear and aerodynamic lines”.

On paper, the GT car would be powered by a hybrid system, combining a 1.6-liter twin-turbo diesel unit with 160 HP and a 95 HP electric motor. The total output is rated at 255 HP.

The interior of the car is futuristic and uses a simple driver-oriented dashboard, along with a big touchscreen display on the center console.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento tackles the Sepang Circuit [video]

Features a 5.2-liter V10 with 570 PS (419 kW)

YouTube's Shmee150 has posted a new video of the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento stretching its legs at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

Originally unveiled as a concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the Sesto Elemento is a track-only supercar that features a 5.2-liter V10 engine with 570 PS (419 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to all-wheel drive and an insane curb weight of 999 kg (2,202 lb) the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.5 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph).

While Lamborghini announced plans to build 20 Sesto Elementos in 2011, there are rumors that only two exist and they are both owned by the automaker.

Video: Forza Motorsport 5 Gets New Meguiar's Car Pack

Nearly two months after releasing the Alpinestars Car Pack, Turn 10 Studios has announced the introduction of a new downloadable bundle for the Forza Motorsport 5 racing game.

The new package includes ten diverse vehicles that will take users through different automobile eras. Those who fancy vintage American cars will get to drive the 1940 Ford De Luxe Coupe, while muscle car enthusiasts will be able to hoon the gorgeous 1957 Chevy Bel Air and the power-packing Chevelle SS-396 and Dodge Dart HEMI Super Stock.

The motorsports section is also well covered, with a 1958 Aston Martin DBR1 and a 2013 BMW M3 race car included. The second Aston Martin gamers will get their hands on is the 2011 V12 Zagato, with more British heritage coming with the 1966 Ford Lotus Cortina.

Lastly, the 1986 Alfa Romeo GTV-6 will give you a taste of pure Italian performance, while the 1973 Mazda RX-3 will be the only Japanese vehicle waiting to be hooned via the game controller.

The Meguiar's Car Pack is available for $9.99 in the Xbox Live Marketplace and at no cost to users that already own the Forza Motorsport 5 Car Pass.

BMW i9 coming in 2016, could be based on the i8 - report

The four-door i8?

According to a recent report, BMW is gearing up to launch an i9 in 2016.

Details are limited but the model will reportedly be a four-door sports car that is based on the i8.

Little else is known about thecar but it would presumably feature carbon fiber construction and i8's plug-in hybrid powertrain that consists of a 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder engine, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. This means the model could have a combined maximum output of 362 PS (266 kW) and 420 lb-ft (570 Nm) of torque.

Even Godzilla can't stomach the Fiat 500L [video]

Fiat has teamed up with Warner Bros and the Moving Picture Company to create a new ad staring Godzilla and the Fiat 500L.

Called "Godzilla Craves Italian," the clip features the Godzilla gobbling up Fiats before he eventually chooses a 500L. Once he eats it, he chokes and spits it out as the voiceover says "The four-door Fiat 500L - it's a lot bigger than you think."

According to Chief Marketing Officer Olivier Francois “As one of the year’s most-anticipated films prepares to hit movie screens, we want to think big like the Fiat 500L, and what’s bigger than Godzilla. There’s no escaping that whether appetites run for a sporty Fiat 500C, the small-but-wicked Abarth or the four-door Fiat 500L, there is a Fiat for every taste.”

Besides airing the commercial, Fiat will be hosting a Godzilla Giveaway on Facebook and a "San Francisco Showdown" which asks fans to find Fiat logos and vehicles in a Giga Pixel picture of San Francisco in return for entries to win a three-day trip for two to the city.

Ferrari has revealed some new details about their future product lineup.

As part of their five year plan, the company will offer a "full line" of high-performance models with V8 and V12 engines. A new model will be launched every year and they will each have a four-year lifecycle. They will then be followed by "M versions" which will last another four years.

Besides the standard models, Ferrari will occasionally offer a "special series" that targets "high-end individuals."

Sergio Marchionne plans on keeping production capped at 7,000 units annually, to "preserve the brand's uniqueness," but he hinted that number could increase to 10,000 units as the number of high net-worth individuals grows - especially in developing markets.

BMW sound battle: turbocharged vs. naturally aspirated V8 engines [video]

M5 versus M3

This new video from YouTuber Jewethe gives us the opportunity to hear and compare the sound of two beloved BMW engines. The first one is the 560 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo unit that’s currently being mounted in the M5, M6 (Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe), as well as the X5 and X6. The other one is the 4.0-liter V8 naturally aspirated engine that goes by the S65 codename, already retired.

The footage above features a black BMW M5 F10 and two BMW M3 E92s doing loud accelerations. So, what’s your choice – a naturally aspirated or a turbocharged BMW V8 engine?

The BMW i8, by all accounts, is a pretty incredible ride. It looks sexy as hell; it's got an advanced powertrain; and the technology used on the hybrid sports car is arguably second-to-none. All that being said, even the i8 is entitled to a bad day or two, and as this video painfully shows, one of those bad days reared its ugly head during a recent testing session at the Nurburgring.

At the start, the i8 looks to have been running smoothly, effortlessly stretching its legs while weaving around one of the world's most famous race tracks. But during one run down a straight, the i8 slows down and drives into a patch of grass on the side.

We don't know exactly what happened to the i8, but it doesn't look like it was part of the testing script. Maybe it lost power, or there were some mechanical glitches in that weave of wiring inside the car. But something happened to the i8 because cars like this one don't slow down on the side of the road for anything.

Factory Five Racing 818 EV by 33 Machine and EV West

Factory Five Racing has been a front-runner in custom kit cars and hot rods for quite some time, building replicas of cars long since out of production. The California-based company also designed and built its own complete car called the 818 using drivetrain components from a Subaru WRX. However, for the particular car pictured above, the drivetrain takes a completely new spin on performance.

Missing is the usual Subaru Boxer engine, replaced by a AC35x2 motor fed by a 16-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery constructed of two 8-kWh sub-packs. The motor and battery unit is still connected to a WRX five-speed manual transmission that allows for reduced energy consumption and management of the motor's output.

Speaking of output, the motor zaps out 165 horsepower and 189 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. It might not seem like much, but the entire car will weigh just under 2,000 pounds - even with its body panels attached. Its claimed top speed is 150 mph, and though its still untested, the goal is likely obtainable.

Putting this electrified beast together are two other California companies that know a thing or two about building cars and electricity. EV West is undertaking installing and calibrating the air-cooled, Hi Performance Electric Vehicle Systems-sourced electric motor while the guys at 33 Machine work to incorporate all the components within the modified Factory Five Racing tube chassis.

In a video past the jump, the naked car squirrels around a test track with all the sidewise shenanigans of a V-8-powered muscle car, but of course is completely silent while smoking its rubber.
